Were you one of those students in school who loved the thrill of handing in that term paper or homework at the very last moment?Or it was even more fun to tell the teacher, with a tear trickling down your cheek, that the dog ate it and you’d have to hand it in on Monday?
Do you still do that today with paperwork? And now you may be kicking yourself because you missed the deadline to send in your submission for the Memory Book Form?(For the rest of you students who HAVE done your assignment, you can skip the rest of this message and scroll on down to the rest of the newsletter!).Now, back to you little procrastinators…..
You are REALLY going to be sad when you learn that 125(and counting) of your classmates have sent in something for the Book. THEY can connect with one another now because their contact information, in addition to their personal story, is in the book. And YOU will be out in the cold.Maybe your best friend in high school with whom you have lost contact is in the book, waiting to hear from you…..maybe you are single and that high schoolflame is single and what if…..But, alas, YOU won’t be in the book so who knows what might have happened (and that person may be AT the Reunion!!!!)….Ah, so sad.
So, because we care about you and we want to give you your absolute last chance to get into the book, we’re including the Memory Book Form one last time. The book goes to the printer the first week of June. You don’t want to go into your Golden Years broken hearted that YOU were not in the Book – do you?Get busy!

Who Is Coming To TheReunion?
Did you guess these classmates?
This will test your memory:It involves TWO classmates. They married in December of 1960 and a son was born to them 11 months later. The husband finished Pharmacy School and the family moved to Newport, Oregon and then on to Salem, Oregon where the wife finished Nurses Training. For the next ten years they owned a pharmacy in Central Oregon and then off they went to New Mexico. After 20 years there, retirement time arrived and the couple relocated to Southern California where they currently reside. They have 2 children and 7 living grandchildren and they look forward to their 50th wedding anniversary in December.Did you recognize this pair?Bob Amens and Lauralee Styles
And here’s another classmate.Who is this?
This classmate lived and breathed sports in high school. You could see him involved in football, track, field shot put, basketball. He claims that he was painfully shy and afraid of girls in high school but discovered in college that girls rather liked boys who played sports for the University of Oregon. He remembers with trepidation being called into the Assistant Principal’s office (remember Arus Bird??) and wondering what stern lecture was about to befall him about acting responsibly, etc.To his great relief, the meeting was about an overdue library book (he dodged a bullet!).He went on to attend the University of Oregon and is a Sigma Chi.His blended family includes a son who attended Beaverton High and children who attended Jesuit and St. Mary’s.He has coached soccer for 25 years for a variety of groups, enjoys giving golf instructions to handicapped children and continues to work as a real estate broker, his profession for the last 32 years.Did you recognize – Ron Hopkins
Two more classmates to think about – who are they?
This student watched over your senior class treasury. He was discovered by Al Dardis as a rangy baritone and went from Beaverton morning announcements to later doing vocal and instrument backup for Hilo Hattie, The Four/Fifths and the Sweetland Band.As a high school junior, he was ruled a professional equestrian by the American Horse Show Association. He attended the University of Tennessee Law School, the New York Institute of Finance and worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. For relaxation and fun he became interested in showing cattle, horses and dogs and holds two World Records, six World Championships and 30 United States National Champions. In the European Circuit, his Silkey Terrier won Championships from Gibraltar to Finland. He has made guest appearances on Animal Planet. He has four children and just finished his 42nd year as a stockbroker.Who is he?
And who is this? After graduation at Beaverton High School, this student went on to OSU where she met her future husband. They married after graduation in 1964.After a year in Florida they moved to Ecuador and have lived there ever since. She became VERY proficient in Spanish. They worked with her husband’s parents on the family farm, raising cattle and rice and built their own home near the family hacienda.Eventually they added raising hens for eggs, quail and Rock Cornish Hens as well.A feed and vet supply store was added to the family business and it was located about 10 miles from the family farm. She and her husband raised 3 children, one boy and two girls. There are 6 grandchildren with another to be born very soon. This classmate is now widowed and lives with her youngest daughter and extended family. Her other two children reside in Chicago, Illinois and Rochester, Washington. She is planning to attend the reunion and would love to hear from classmates.Who is she?
