Wrestling and Track My greatest memory was setting a new school record in the 100 yard dash of 9.9 seconds and the two times that the track team won the Oregon State Championship.

Stationed at Fairchild AFB, Washington, Torrejon AB, Madrid, Spain, Vanderberg AFB, California, two combat tours of duty in South East Asia, US Southern Command NATO, Naples, Italy, McChord AFB, Washington and finally at Edwards AFB, California where I retired in 1980.
I worked for over seven years in the furneral industry as an embalmer and funeral director. In 1991 when our daughter Ronda died, I changed careers. For five years I worked with the Automobile Club of Southern California as the senior emergency road service dispatcher for the Antelope Valley in Lancaster, California. For many years I was also involved in presenting seminars and self help programs nationally. I was also the Corporate Director of Operations for a national franchise company. Other endeavors afterwards were in the areas of social services and as financial aid consultant for a private vocational college until I retired in August of 2008.
I married my high school sweetheart, Diane Howe from Beaverton in 1983. We married in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where Diane was living and working at the time as professional hair stylist. She then joined me in Madrid, Spain, where we had a three year long honey-moon!
The highlight of my life was being ordained as a Permanent Deacon by Cardinal Roger Mahoney in 1999 for service at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lancaster, California, where we now live.
Favorite Pastimes Prior to retirement, I enjoyed playing golf when I could. Later on in life, physical disabilities prevented me from continuing even though I would like to do so. Lately, my wife and I have been traveling as much as we can in our 5th Wheel RV. We spent six months in 2008 traveling around the United States and a major portion of Canada. We avail ourselves to our greatest luxury of cruising when ever we can. We have cruised and visited most of the countries throughout the Mediterranean Sea and recently took a 21 day, four continent cruise from Italy to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with stops in France, Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, The Canary Islands, Brazil, Barbados and Domingo.
Future plans include more European travel, cruising and getting away in our RV. We no longer take vacations since that applies to those who still work. For retirees, We Just Get Away and enjoy being Recycled Teen Agers!
